The year was 1902. Theodore Roosevelt was president. Average life expectancy in the U.S. was 47. Only 8% of homes had a telephone. The average wage in America was 22 cents an hour. A gallon of milk cost 7 cents. More than 95% of all births in the U.S. took place at home.

That same year—1902—two existing buildings originally constructed in 1871 housing a hat shop and shoe store were combined to create The Doylestown Inn. The Inn was later expanded in 1937 with the addition of a third building.

In 2001, an exquisite restoration of The Doylestown Inn was completed. The restoration captured the historic past of the Inn and created an inn of rare charm and easy elegance.
